Find your future profession by trying it out
A 12-week programme to switch careers into digital marketing. You explore the professions, choose one, learn it by doing, then build a portfolio and learn how to find your first projects.
To change careers, without jumping into the unknown
Most training programmes stop before the first client. Here, the final weeks are dedicated to your portfolio, your offer and finding projects.

Digital marketing, and nothing else
One profession, chosen and learned properly. A specialisation only opens when a professional who practises it is there to teach it and check the content.
UGC
Creating videos for brands: script, hook, filming on your phone, editing, usage rights. You need to be comfortable on camera.
Other digital marketing professions
Social media management, SEO and content, then email or online advertising may be added, each one only with a professional from the field.
- Closing (selling over the phone)
- "AI expert": AI is a tool, used in every profession
- Video editing on its own: the basics are built into UGC
AI will help you in every profession: research, ideas, writing, organisation. It also helps prepare the lessons, but all professional content is checked by practitioners before it's taught.
Twelve weeks, four stages
Every week ends with something to hand in. The detail for weeks 3 to 7 is shown here for UGC, the first profession offered.
Explore and choose
One real exercise per profession, a decision grid, your personal plan.
Learn the profession
Fundamentals, method, practice, then a mini-project with feedback.
Portfolio and offer
Three portfolio pieces, an offer, a starting price.
First projects
Prospects, messages, conversation, proposal, follow-up.
| Week | What you do | What you hand in |
|---|---|---|
| W1 | Discovery One real exercise per profession: suggest content ideas for a brand, write the script for a short video, understand the intent behind a Google search. | 3 exercises handed in |
| W2 | Orientation A grid to help you choose: your real available hours, how you feel about being on camera, writing, analysis. One session with the group. | Your written choice and your personal plan |
| W3 | Fundamentals What brands buy, the formats, usage rights, the tools, AI as an assistant. | A guided exercise |
| W4 | Method Script, hook, filming on your phone, lighting, sound and editing basics. | A first deliverable, with feedback |
| W5 | Practice Editing, subtitles, variations of the same video. | A second deliverable |
| W6 | Practice Working with a brand: brief, feedback, new versions. | A third deliverable |
| W7 | Full case An end-to-end mini-project: several videos for a real brief. | A full case, with feedback |
| W8 | Portfolio Choosing, formatting and presenting your best pieces. | A 3-piece portfolio |
| W9 | Offer Your offer, a starting price, your shop window. | An offer sheet and a price grid |
| W10 | Prospecting Building a list of prospects and writing your first messages. | A prospect list and your first messages |
| W11 | Conversation The sales conversation, the proposal, objections. | A mock call and a proposal |
| W12 | Follow-up Follow-up, quotes, contracts, invoices, and what comes next. | A tracking sheet and a 90-day plan |
Three professions, three short exercises
Not a personality quiz: the real work, in 10 to 15 minutes. Do the exercise on your own, then compare with the suggested answers.
Choose an angle and script a video
The (fictional) brief: an insulated water bottle brand, "Nomad", targets working people aged 25 to 40. It wants a vertical video of 20 to 30 seconds. Showing your face is not required.
Your task: choose an angle (problem then solution, demonstration, or "my morning routine"). Write the hook for the first 3 seconds, 3 or 4 shots and the final call to action.
See the suggested answers
- A single angle, held from start to finish.
- A hook you can see and read, for example on-screen text.
- Show rather than tell: one shot per idea, 2 to 4 seconds each.
- No made-up claims: a figure only goes in if it's in the brief.
- A simple call to action, and subtitles.
Analyse a brand and suggest 3 content ideas
The (fictional) brand: a neighbourhood bakery posts one photo of a croissant a week, with no caption. Its goal: to get more birthday cake orders.
Your task: say what's wrong with the way it posts, then suggest 3 content ideas, each with its format, its hook and what it should prompt people to do.
See the suggested answers
- Start from the goal: orders, not "likes".
- Show the craftsmanship, for example behind the scenes of a custom cake.
- Explain how to order, and pin it to the profile.
- Always a clear call to action.
- Measure what matters: messages received and orders.
Understand the intent behind a Google search
Three searches: "best face sunscreen for oily skin", "how to unclog a sink without chemicals", "plumber open Sunday near me".
Your task: for each one, what is the person really looking for (to learn, to compare before buying, to act right away)? What content would answer them best?
See the suggested answers
- Search 1: compare before buying. An honest buying guide.
- Search 2: learn. A step-by-step tutorial.
- Search 3: act right away. An up-to-date business listing rather than an article.
- The lesson: understand the intent before choosing the keywords.
What you'll have in hand
A chosen profession
Chosen after trying it, not on a hunch.
Work with feedback
Several deliverables and a full case, with feedback.
A portfolio
Three pieces to show your future clients.
An offer
What you sell, to whom, and a starting price.
A prospecting method
A prospect list, your messages, a follow-up system and a 90-day plan.
A certificate of completion
It confirms you completed the programme. It is neither a degree nor a certification.
A clear framework, week after week
The calendar and the exact rhythm of the sessions are presented to you during the clarity call.
Remote, in a small group
Short videos to watch at your own pace, and live sessions with the group.
Feedback on your work
Your deliverables are reviewed. What you learn about the profession is checked by professionals who practise it.
One deliverable a week
So you make progress without getting scattered, and always know where you stand.
Vanessa by your side
Vanessa supports you from the clarity call to the end of the programme, especially on your offer and finding projects.
A training programme guarantees neither a job nor a level of income: it gives you a method and support. Twelve weeks give you solid foundations, a portfolio and a method; a profession is then built over time.
First, a clarity call, free of charge
To check together that the Digital Academy is the right choice for you, and that the pace fits your schedule. About 30 minutes by video call with Vanessa, with no commitment and nothing to prepare.
A time slot
You pick a time that suits you, or you write to us.
We take stock
What you can already do, how much time you have, what you're looking for.
We point you in the right direction
The programme that suits you, or none if the timing isn't right.
You decide
You know the programme, the format and the fee. You take the time to think it over.
The Digital Academy in practice
I don't know which profession to choose.
That's normal: it's what the first two weeks are for. You can already try the three exercises further up this page.
Do I need experience?
No. You need time each week, and to be willing to produce a portfolio and reach out to prospects.
How much time should I set aside each week?
Regular hours: as a guide, 6 to 8 hours a week for 12 weeks. We check together during the call that it fits your schedule.
Which professions are offered?
The first profession offered is UGC. Other digital marketing professions may be added, but only when a professional from the field is there to teach it.
What about AI?
You'll use it as a tool in every profession: research, ideas, writing, organisation. It replaces neither learning the profession nor human review.
How much does it cost?
The fee is presented to you during the clarity call, depending on the programme and format that suit you.
Do you guarantee projects?
No. The final weeks teach you how to look for projects. What you get afterwards depends on your work, your time and your market.
How is it different from Mission Client?
The Digital Academy starts from scratch and teaches you a profession. Mission Client is for people who already have a skill and want to learn how to sell it.
Not quite your situation?
